Quintum Multipath Architecture Technology: Ease and Survivability of the VoIP Gateway

Before VoIP became as well-known a mode of communication as it is today, it was questioned for its ability to offer not only communications that were an improvement from the traditional PSTN, but also whether an IP voice network could provide quality and be installed in a way that didn’t require lots of network changes. These concerns kept VoIP from soaring in uptake.

VoIP Gateways were introduced as a way of linking together both traditional and new IP telephony so that communications between multiple locations were possible. The interconnection of the two made it easier to begin accepting VoIP and the transition to an all IP network, but questions about the ease of deployment and quality of such a technology, still surfaced.

Quintum, a leading provider of VoIP switches and gateways, addressed this need with their unique MultiPath Architecture. Designed to transparently "drop" a VoIP solution in between a traditional PBX and router environments, or even in an IP PBX network with legacy devices in remote locations, with little network modification-- the solution made introducing VoIP a more promising possibility.

Utilizing MultiPath architecture, Quintum is able to provide a VoIP solution that allows enterprises to avoid worrying about implementation risks and take advantage of a simple VoIP installation. This gets them connected to an IP network quickly and easily.

The Tenor family of MultiPath Switches, gateways and other VoIP solutions are better than traditional VoIP gateways because it is transparent to the PBX and PSTN, and is able to intelligently route calls across the IP network while helping to save on costs and assuring high voice quality.

What is most significant is that unlike a traditional VoIP Gateway, which usually requires additional trunk hardware and PBX re-programming, the Tenor MultiPath switches offer easy integration with the existing network, so the transition into the next generation of communications, is almost effortless.

As VoIP moves toward becoming the only solution for voice communications, Quintum makes it possible to utilize a VoIP solution that offers ease of integration and ensures survivability for next generation communication capabilities.
